FRP stands for "Fiber Reinforced Polymer". It is a composite product made from fibers and matrix; Common industrial fibers such as carbon, glass, aramid and basalt fibers, and matrix materials from polymers such as epoxy, vinyl ester, polyester, etc.
Each of these materials has unique characteristics, and they get combined to make a higher-quality product than fibers and resin alone.
In factories, by combining fibers and polymers, products such as FRP laminate (FRP sheet), FRP rebar and other Sections of FRP can be produced. Through on-site methods such as the wet lay-up process too, polymer can be mixed with fibers to make an FRP product. FRP products have been used in various areas, the most common of which is retrofit of concrete structures.
